The service

BirdsongBook is a reference and learning aid for identifying birds by their songs, calls, and field marks. It provides educational information and reference audio; it does not record audio and does not claim automatic sound identification. Field identifications are always your own judgment — verify with a current field guide or an expert.

Reference audio licensing

Reference recordings are drawn from Xeno-Canto and shared under public-domain (CC0) or Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licenses, with recordist and license credited in the app. We never bundle CC-BY-NC, CC-BY-SA, or commercial recordings.

Subscriptions and purchases

BirdsongBook offers a one-time Lifetime unlock and auto-renewing subscriptions, sold through the App Store. The Lifetime unlock is a single purchase that never renews. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancel anytime in your Apple account settings. A free tier is available with no account required.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service or attempt to reverse-engineer it. The AI field coach provides guidance, not authoritative identification.

Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. BirdsongBook and KeenShift are not liable for identification errors or their consequences.
